Through health and life-style coaching my goal is
to help clients realize their emotional, spiritual and
physical potential so they can experience life without
limitations. I am the founder of Soaring Eagle Wellness,
a holistic health and wellness practice in Portland,
Oregon. The business is dedicated to my late husband,
Jeff Anderson, who died due to complications from Lupus.
My ultimate vision is to transform the way traditional
medicine treats patients with auto-immune diseases. It
is my belief that by taking into account the body-mind
as a whole and addressing the role of diet, stress and
emotions the body will heal
itself.

Dear Andrea,
I'm taking a partial
break this month by only writing one article. My hope is
that you will give yourself a break during this holiday
season as well. If you don't have time to take care of
yourself you may not be available to help take care of
your loved ones when they need you. So don't feel
selfish for giving yourself some needed self-care.
Selfishness is caring for only yourself to the exclusion
of others. Not many fall into that category! So give
yourself a break and make plans now to partake in your
favorite self-care ritual.
I also encourage you
to take some time this month to think about 2008.
Envision how you wish to see things unfold and set your
goals and intentions. I encourage you to write them out
and put them somewhere visible, somewhere you will read
them on a daily basis. This can be a powerful exercise!
Even more powerful is sharing your intentions with
others. Accountability, in the form of a friend, is a
potent motivator. And if you know that your health is at
the top of your list this next year contact me for a
free consultation. You have only increased health to
gain!
As far as my business plans go, in 2008, I
am planning to add a few more items to my offerings. If
you are interested in a health food store tour or a
healthy extreme pantry makeover let me know. I can't
wait to unfold the mysteries of quinoa (keen-wa), kelp
and kale to the inexperienced! And, of course, my new
wellness group begins in January. I will also be
updating my website. So keep an eye out for the new
release!
Meanwhile, I wish you and yours a
relaxed and special holiday season,

Permission
to Procrastinate
|
|
 Procrastination isn't the
problem, it's the solution. So procrastinate now, don't
put it off. ~ Ellen DeGeneres
During the rush of the holiday season
you may feel as if you have no time; like you will never
get everything accomplished. This can leave us feeling
incapable and depressed. "What is wrong with me? That I
am not perfect?" For some this season causes much
anxiety; anxiety that can freeze you in your tracks and
lead to procrastination.
There are obviously unhealthy forms
of procrastination and this is what we think of most
often when we hear the word. However, not all
procrastination is bad. Think about it. Many people
respond to working under pressure. It stokes a fire and
gets their creative energy flowing. But we all know that
procrastinating paying the bills doesn't bring warm
fuzzies. There are some more unpleasant or unstimulating
tasks or issues that become monsters if left to
procrastination, yet this season I encourage you to
rethink your "to do" list. Allow yourself the luxury of
procrastinating on things that are unnecessary. Instead,
choose to focus your time and energy on those items that
mean the most to you and will give you the biggest bang
for your time and energy buck. There are probably many
tasks on your list that can wait until tomorrow or next
week. Giving yourself permission to procrastinate can be
a freeing
experience. | | |
