FAQs > What do you do? > What is Emotional Freedom Techniques?
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), often referred to as tapping, is an acupressure based technique created to help release negative emotions stored in our energy system. EFT uses gentle tapping or stimulation of acupoints on the body. This method is based on the idea that emotions can contribute to discomfort and disease. EFT is able to quickly diminish the emotional impact of memories and incidents that trigger emotional discomfort. Once the distress is diminished or removed the body can often rebalance itself. The goal of EFT or other energy meridian methods, such as acupuncture, is to address the underlying energetic patterns with the goal of bringing balance and harmony within the energetic field. The belief is that once the energy field is balanced and flowing without disruption, the body usually heals itself naturally.
EFT is still considered experimental. To find out more information you can continue to read this website, but I also encourage you to check out EFT Universe. They are at the forefront of the online EFT community and they are maintaining Gary Craig's, the founder of EFT, large database of EFT case histories since his retirement.
